FreePlay Fridays

AFC Lightning is dedicated to having our coaches provide exceptional instruction to our players. Sometimes, however, it is important for players to experience unstructured play, where players enjoy the game, make friends, explore their creativity on the field, and simply PLAY.

In our effort to continually expand fun soccer and sporting opportunities, AFC Lightning is excited to partner with Peachtree City Lazers and Fayette County Youth Soccer League to offer FreePlay Fridays — a day for youth soccer players in our community where players can come to the fields, join up with any team, and simply PLAY the beautiful game. No coaching, no pressure — just pure soccer fun, and best of all (like the name suggests), it’s completely FREE to join!

Our programs' directors and staff coaches will be on site to help facilitate players and games between fields, to join in and play with the players, and to encourage a love of the game.

  • What is the cost of the program?

As the name suggests, there is no cost to join FreePlay Fridays! However, we plan on having some food trucks at the facility, so it may be worth bringing some money for food.

  • What is the role of parents in FreePlay Fridays?

Just like in their normal program environments, parents role is to SUPPORT. Encouragment is great, positivity is amazing, but most importantly, there is to be no coaching done by anyone (parents or coaches). The goal of FreePlay Fridays is for players to learn through experience and grow socially by working with new teammates in a new environment.
