Steve returns to AFC Lightning as the Executive Director after previously dedicating 13 years to the organization in various capacities. During his initial tenure, he held key positions such as Boys Director of Coaching, Girls Director of Coaching, and Assistant Director of Coaching. Steve's extensive background also includes serving as an assistant coach at Georgia State University and Lagrange College, along with his role as the head coach for the Atlanta Silverbacks U23 PDL team.

In the realm of youth soccer coaching and administration, Steve has achieved notable success at every level. A few accomplishments of importance include securing the U19 Boys USYSA National Championship in 2014, a third-place finish at the USYSA National Championship with AFC Lightning's U19 Girls in 2018, and guiding AFC Lightning's U15 Boys to the championship match at US Club Soccer's NPL Finals.

Steve grew up in the Atlanta-area and attended Forest Park High School in Clayton County. After high school, he enrolled at Armstrong State College where he was selected to the All Big South Conference team as a sophomore.  He transferred to Georgia State University and played for the Panthers helping them win two Trans America Athletic Conference Championships (Atlantic Sun Conference) in 1986 and 1987. Steve went on to play professionally in the USISL, the NPSL, the A-League, and the EISL.
