AFC Lightning Tryouts will take place at our McCurry Park complexes:

U9-U13 Boys and Girls will be May 28-30

U14-U18 Boys and Girls will be June 4-6

AFC Lightning will hold tryouts for our U8 Pre-Academy program at our Baseball Soccer Complex in Peachtree City on the following dates/times:

May 28 and 30: 6:00-7:00pm

If you have any questions about this program please contact Angelo Yokaris at coachangelo@gmail.com. It is recommended that you contact Coach Angelo in advance to let him know you plan to tryout.  

Please bring a size 4 soccer ball, shinguards and water for the tryouts.

 May Development Camp 

Date: May 20-23, 2013
Deadline: May 19, 2013
Location: Baseball Soccer Complex in Peachtree City off Highway 74 
Time: 5:30-7pm
Cost: $70

Participation: This camp is open to any current U8 - U12 Select and Recreation players, who are interested in playing in the U9 - U13 select in 2011-2012.  Camp is open to anyone, regardless of current club affiliation.

The camp focuses on developing sound technical ability in the following areas: dribbling, 1v1, finishing, passing, and receiving.

The 96 Girls Premier, 98 Girls Premier and 99 Boys Elite advanced to the finals on May 18 of the Georgia Soccer President's Cup. The championship games will be played at McCurry Park so come check out our teams in action.

The AFC Lightning 03 Gold and Yellow, coached by Executive Director Dale Davis, were crowned Champions of the Georgia Soccer Academy Cup. Both teams were unbeaten at the event with the Gold team winning the 8v8 Wambach Division and the Yellow squad victorious in the 6v6 Morgan Division. 

This was the fifth final for the Gold squad this season; they have won four championships. This was the second tournament championship for the Yellow team.

The Lightning 01 Boys Gold were crowned Champions of the Georgia Soccer Academy Cup in the 11v11 Messi Division. The team, coached by Josh Villalobos, defeated SSA Chelsea Central Premier, Alpharetta Ambush, and Atlanta Fire United in the group stage and then went on to beat NASA in the Championship Match. 

 Finishing Camp

Dates: June 10-13, 2013

Deadline: Friday, June 7

Location: McCury Park (field to be announced)

Time: 6:00-7:30pm

Cost: $60

This camp is open to the following birth dates 08/01/00 through 07/31/05.

Congratulations to the AFC Lightning 03 Girls Red, coached by Brett Phillips! The team were finalists at the Georgia Soccer Academy Cup in the 6v6 Solo Division. The team won two and tied one in the group stage before falling in the championship match to CFC Red Star. Great work girls on another successful tournament this season; this was the third final in 2012-2013 for this team.

Coach Terry Roddy and the Lightning 01 Boys Red were finalists in the 11v11 Dempsey Division at the Academy Cup on May 12. The team was beaten in the Championship Match by Cobb Strikers Blue. Congratulations to the team on their solid performances all weekend.
