AFC Lightning has multiple teams crowned ASA Xtreme Cup Champions

A number of AFC Lightning teams were crowned champions at the ASA Xtreme tournament over the May 22 and 23 weekend.  Please scroll down to see all of their recaps.

The AFC Lightning ’99 Boys’ Black team were U11 Bronze champions. They won all four games defeating Concorde Fire North Red 6-1, Forsyth Galaxy 3-1, and NGSA Rapids 7-0 in preliminary action.  They played Concorde Fire North Red again in the final and won for a fourth time over the weekend by a score of 3-2.

The team consisted of Will Gilmer, Caleb McCord, Jacob Addison, Ryan Miklausich, Jesus Gueurrero, Jeremy Lewis, Mead Cushman, Dylan Kesar, Emilio De La Mora, Hagen Clements, Sean Gravley, Christian Dattilo and Addie Dattilo and were coached by Vince Dattilo and Walter Espinoza.

The AFC Lightning '00 girls White team won the U10 Bronze bracket with a score of 5-0 over the Roswell Santos 00 team in the finals after defeating ASA Xtreme 00 Silver 6-0 in the semifinals and pool play games of 2-1 vs West Georgia FC United Black, and 1-2 vs CFC Lady Chiefs Silver.

The team consisted of Lauren Avidano, Rae Anne Anderson, Shannon McGregor, Maya Olson, Lauryn Phillips, Rachel Snapperman, Amber Sullivan and Emma Whitson and were coached by Paul Costick and Brad Mitchum during the tournament, and trained by Chris Mahaffey, Steve Muccillo and Andy Thompson.
