Goalkeeper Christa Strickland traveled to New Orleans with the GA 94 ODP team to participate in the Region III ODP championships Jan. 15th – 18th. 

Georgia just missed reaching the final with a slim 2-1 loss to Florida in group play.  North Texas went on to win the tournament and will represent Region III in the National ODP tournament in Arizona this summer.

Strickland, who is described by AFC Assistant Director of Coaching, Steve Muccillo, as “the hardest working player in the club – male or female”, is a sophomore at Whitewater High School.  She led the AFC ’94 Elite team to first place in Athena A and is already been identified as a 2012 “player to watch”.
