Bryan McDermott Email: bgmcd@earthlink.net Telephone: 770-315-4906 Bryan is the only coach who has been actively involved with the club every year since it was started back in 1984. Since then Bryan has been a Head coach or Assistant coach for over 22 years, most of it coaching on the girls side. Bryan was born and raised in Jamaica, where he learned to play the game of soccer. Also, it was there in Jamaica where he started to coach soccer at the St. Georges School in Kingston as the head coach of the U-13 boy’s team and the Assistant coach for the U15 Boys for two years. He was also an assistant coach for the track team for one year. After moving to Georgia, Bryan coached with the now defunct Fulton County Soccer League. Shortly after the Lightning club was formed, he became involved with the Fayette County Youth Soccer League and since then has been helping in various positions on the FCYSL board. He has helped as the Vice President, Referee Assignor, Game Scheduler and Web Master. He also works at the state and regional levels. He serves on GYSA Board as the Commissioner of Area 3 and as a part of the USYSA Region III Tournament Office Staff. Bryan holds a National USSF “C” Coaching License, USSF National Youth Coaching License, USSF Referee (Grade 8), USSF Referee Instructor (Grade 7), USSF Referee Assignor. In addition to his soccer involvement, Bryan has a regular full-time job as an Assistant Manager for the City of Atlanta's Wastewater Laboratory. |
