Blaine grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico.  He played for the country's most popular professional club, Club Deportivo de Guadalajara, most commonly known by Chivas.  Blaine grew through the ranks of their Academy, Junior and Professional program were he was coached by Dutch coaches and some of Mexico’s best youth trainers.

Blaine moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Psychology.  Before becoming a full time coach, Blaine worked for Utah Valley Mental Hospital providing Psycho-Social Therapy to patients with mental illnesses such as Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar and Depression.  While working at the Hospital, Coach Blaine helped train players of all ages and genders in the biggest and most successful club in Utah, Sparta United, where he was later offered the full time job as the club’s Director of Coaching. During his 3 years as DOC, the club won 8 state championships each year, making it the only club in Utah to have ever achieved such success.

Coach Blaine moved to Georgia when his wife Cindy attended Graduate School at Emory University doing a degree in Epidemiology. At the time he was offered a position as one of four full time coaches at Lightning back in 1997.  This year Blaine was offered the Director of the Girls program and he is looking forward to the task.  He holds a National USSF "A" License and a NSCAA Advance National License.

Blaine has been married to Cindy for 15 years. They have two boys, Andre (9) and Marcus (6).
