REFEREE INFORMATION
The AFC Lightning Soccer Club invites you to participate in the Atlanta Lightning Challenge Series soccer tournaments. Sign up directly on the web by clicking the "Referee Registration" link on this menu.

THE TEAMS
The tournament is for select teams from U10 to U15. In the past applications have come from teams in all of the Southeastern states as well as from Kentucky, Ohio, Massachusetts and Utah. We expect a total of 200 teams and about 350 games. The top flight in each age group should feature some very talented players and some closely contested games.

LOCATION
Games will be played in the South Metro area of Atlanta. The main complex will be McCurry Park in Fayetteville, with games also being played at Lovejoy and Cowan Road Complex in Griffin.

TIME LINE
The tournament dates are March 29-30, 2008.

ASSIGNMENTS
As required by USSF, the more senior referees who have replied to us before March 1st will be assigned first. After that date, we will have to make assignments based on the availability of games, regardless of the referee’s experience level. Please sign up early so we can make the best match between you and the games.

The pay scale will be as follows:

Payments will be made in cash and can be collected on site at any time after the completion of the game. Referees will also be provided with drinks and snacks during the day.

ACCOMMODATIONS
Hotel accommodations will be provided for referees travelling further than 100 miles to come to the tournament. If a room is provided, the referee will be expected to do at least four games per day and will have to share the room with another referee. We can not pay for your room if you choose to share it with your spouse or children unless they are refereeing as well. If you are travelling with a team and choose to stay with them, we can not reimburse you for your room at their hotel.
