AFC Lightning invites you to apply to enter the Atlanta Lightning Challenge Series Soccer Tournaments. The tournaments are sanctioned by GYSA and USYSA. Coming up next is:

The AFC Lightning Fall Challenge
August 11th and 12th, 2007
U10-U19 Boys & Girls teams

Last year the Fall tournament was revived after a break of a few years. From its inception, Lightning's Fall Challenge set the standard that many tournaments in Georgia and the Southest follow to this day. In its latest incarnation, we intend to offer teams a fine pre-season experiance.

TEAMS
All teams must be USYSA affiliated. Five guest players are allowed. The Tournament Committee is planning single age group competition with a maximum of eight teams per playing division.

Divisions will be comprised of the following whenever possible:

  • A: Most Competitive (Georgia's Classic I, II/Athena A, B)
  • B: Intermediate Competitive (Georgia's Classic III, IV, V/Athena C, D, E)

Divisions may be further sudivided if the number of entries warrant.

A limited number of teams will be accepted in each of the following USYSA sanctioned age groups:

The tournament committee reserves the right to combine age divisions if a smaller number of applicants is received for a particular age group.

ENTRY FEE

Under 10 (6v6) $300.00
Under 11/12 (8v8) $350.00
Under 12-19 (11v11) $400.00

ENTRIES
Tournament registration will be available soon through Soccer in College. A link will be provided here at that time.

DOCUMENTATION
Teams will need to have the following documents available at registration:

  • Current USYSA validated player passes for each player.
  • Copy of Official State Roster.
  • A Medical Release Form for each player (You may use your own)
  • A Player Roster and Release Form (You MUST get this form from our web site)
  • Two copies of the Game Roster Form (You MUST get this form from our web site)
  • A Permission To Travel Form for out of state teams.

REGISTRATION
Registration will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm at the Soccer Centre in Fayetteville.

All teams MUST check in at this time.

FURTHER INFORMATION
Tournament t-shirts may be pre-ordered and will also be available at most fields. A pre-order form will be available from our web site.

Each division’s champion and runner up will receive awards.
