Wilson joined AFC Lightning in June 2008 as a Staff Coach.

Wilson started coaching at Glory United FC in 2004.  Wilson took over a Classic V team as U15’s.  By the end of their U18 season,  they reached the State Cup Semifinals.  In that time, Wilson had players make the Georgia ODP team in the ’90, ’91, and ’92 age groups.  In 2009, when the core of the team reached U19, we combined with AFC players to make the AFC ’90 Premier team, which finished as Georgia Runner-Up in State Cup and the Region III Bronze Medalist at the Region III Tournament.

Wilson currently holds the USSF National ’A’ license and the USSF Youth License.  Wilson has also assisted with the ’96 Georgia State ODP team.

On the field, Wilson started college at #1 ranked NCAA Division III Ohio Wesleyan University and then transferred to Reinhardt College.  Wilson played there for two seasons and then transferred again to the University of South Carolina-Aiken.  At South Carolina-Aiken, Wilson set and still holds the school record for assists in a season and the Peach Belt Conference record for assists in a single game.

In 1998, Wilson made the Atlanta Ruckus,  but elected not to play because he still had two years of college eligibility left.  In 1999, Wilson spent time playing with the Miami Tango of the USL.

In 2003, Wilson spent three months in Germany training with professional teams, including St. Pauli FC in Hamburg.  Wilson was called back, but was eventually cut.  Wilson has also played in tournaments in Malta, Germany, Italy, Sweden, the Czech Republic, and Mexico.

Besides staying in Germany for three months, Wilson had extended stays in Costa Rica, Denmark, and Brazil.  While in Brazil, Wilson learned to speak fluent Portuguese.

Wilson has a Bachelor’s degree from University of South Carolina in Business Management and a Master’s in International Business from Georgia State University (2007).  Wilson also tutors math (all levels through Calculus), English, English as a second language, and Spanish.
