Dattilo joined the AFC Lightning staff in the summer of 2004.  Dattilo has worked both with the girls programs and, most recently, with our boys programs.  Dattilo is currently coaching our '92 Boys Premier team and '99 Boys Academy. 

Dattilo spent six years as the head coach of Mount Desales Academy High School team, where he won five Region titles and two State Championships.  Dattilo was awarded "Coach of the Year" three of his six years while at Mount Desales.  While in Macon, he coached for Middle Georgia Soccer Association for eight years.

Dattilo spent his youth playing days in Memphis, TN; Houston, TX; and Atlanta, GA.  Dattilo was on the ODP State teams in Texas and on the Regional team while in Georgia. 

Dattilo attended, NCAA Division I, Quincy College in Quincy, where he received rookie of the year honors and was named to several All-Tournament teams.  For his Junior and Senior years, Dattilo transferred to Mercer University.

While at Mercer, Dattilo was ranked nationally in the top five amongst the NCAA Division I scoring point leaders and still holds the single season point leader record at Mercer.

While at Mercer, Dattilo led his team to a TAAC conference runner up in 1991 and a TAAC Conference Championship in 1992.  In those years, Dattilo was the TACC runner up Player of the Year in 1991, and was the TAAC Conference player of the year in 1992.  In '92, he was also named to the Met Life All-American South Regional team.

In 1993, Dattilo was a first round draft pick for the Dayton Dynamo in the National Professional Soccer League.  He spent two years before being traded to the Chicago Power.  Dattilo played professionally for the Atlanta Magic, in the USISL, for three years both indoor and outdoor soccer. 

Dattilo was inducted into both his High School and the Macon Sports Hall of Fame in 2008, and you can see his soccer memorabilia in the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.  Dattilo holds a USSF “B” License, and is currently still playing in the ADASL in Atlanta.

Dattilo resides in Peachtree City with his wife Shannon and their three children.  His two sons, Christian and Addison, both play for AFC.  Dattilo's daughter, Maggie Jo, plays for PTCYSA.
